Wilhelm Andersen is a well-listed Danish artist, best known for his excellent series of landscapes from the northern parts of Copenhagen. His works also include still-life’s and flower scenes. Andersen lived and worked in France from 1919-1925 and was so successful that he received the prestigious award “Mention Honorable” in Paris, in 1923. Andersen was also frequently exhibited in Paris at Salon d’Automme where his flower and garden scenes in particular, were much successful. Andersen returned to Copenhagen in 1925 where he worked and exhibited with the two Art unions, Dyrehavens malere and Kunstnerforeningen af 18. November. Later in Andersen life he began working with decorative arts and glass mosaics.
