At the Royal porcelain fabric he worked primarily on the “dolphin vases” created in 1836 by G.F Hetsch. The vases were very popular since one could order to have loved ones portraits painted among the flowers on the vase. Hansen was chosen to represent Denmark at the World Fair in Vienna in 1873.
