Educated at the Royal Art Academy in 1893, Magaard was a pupil of L. Tuxen. He attended Krøyers art school in 1901. After finishing school, Magaard worked primarily in Denmark and did many cityscapes from Copenhagen and landscapes from Jutland. Magaard is known for his attention to detail and had a great sense of capturing the true form of buildings. He has worked in Germany and Holland and his work have been exhibited in United Kingdom and Scandinavia.
