Ulrichsen first passion was drawing and attended the Royal Academy drawing school. Later on he became a drawing teacher at the technical schools in Copenhagen from 1924 to 1928. It was the Danish master painter L.A Ring who inspired Ulrichsen to become a painter, and Ulrichsen became a painter under L.A Rings guidance. Ulrichsen have illustrated many books and magazines, among others the book “Danske Folkeminder”.
