Peter Wilhardt was known as a landscape painter. One of his favorite scenes was from the Dyrehaven forest, and he was known for his very accurate and charming paintings from the many meadows and hills found in Dyrehaven. He was also a member of the union “Dyrehavens Malere” (Artists of Dyrehaven). Due to his talent and fame he was later hired to paint portraits of many members of the Danish royal family. In 1894 Wilhardt opened his ‘School of Art and Drawing’ and ran it with a great success until he stopped in 1915 to concentrate on his own art.

Graduated from the Royal Art Academy in Copenhagen in 1885.
Pupil of Otto Bache, Jul. Exner and Fr. Vermehren.
