Educated at Kröyers free artists school and at the school of Emilie Mundt and Marie Luplaus in 1899. Pupil of N.V dorph and Johan Rohde. Bolt was strongly influenced by French impressionism and by the techniques of the old masters like Rubens and Velasquez. Bolt primarily worked with powerful flower scenes or female portraits.
