Pupil of Hakon Thorsen and H. Grønvold in 1910. Vantore was a naturalistic artist but later used strong colours and shades and moved closer to the definition of a modernist. Vantore was greatly inspired by the French Fauvism, especially by the artist Andre Derain. Vantore primarily painted still-life’s and portraits and landscapes. Vantore worked mostly in Scandinavia, but has also painted and travelled in France and Belgium between 1923-1925.
