Educated at the Royal Art academy in 1892. Pupil of Viggo Pedersen and Skamstrup from 1897-1899. Later attended Academy Colarossi in Paris from about 1900-1904. Sandholt was primarily a naturalistic artist, but was also known to use modern color compositions in her works. Sandholt worked on many different scenes like landscapes, portraits and still-life’s. Her portraits show a strong influence from Viggo Pedersen and contains a remarkable sense of intimacy and emotions.
Sandholt has traveled all around Europe and often stayed and worked in European countries including:
