Educated at the school of Arvid Ages in 1905. Nielsen was later a pupil of Wilhard in 1911. Reinholdt Nielsen worked primarily with landscapes and known for his series of landscapes from the same area but done in different seasons. Reinholdt Nielsen was a humorous and beloved character who rarely finished his works at home. Instead he stayed in the freezing cold or the hot summer afternoons until his work was complete. His focus was capturing the details in the changing weather and lights and his works are known for their detailed and fresh looks. Reinholdt Nielsen worked primarily in the Danish nature but he also worked and traveled in Germany and Belgium in 1910 and in Italy in 1921.
