Pupil of C.C. Peters and Fr. Vermehren. Educated at the Royal academy of arts in 1868 where he was a pupil of Wilhelm Kyhn. Brandt was primarily known for his land and seascapes from the island Bornholm where he worked during the summers for 50 years. Brandt also worked in the Nederland’s and in Belgium from 1870 and took frequently travels to Germany and Italy from 1914 and again from 1919. Brandt works were especially in demand at various European Noble houses whose collections enlarged Brandt’s fame even more.
