Educated at the Royal Art academy in Copenhagen in 1868 where he was a pupil of Wilhelm Kyhn. Later he attended the model school of F. Vermehren in 1876. Bredsdorff was a close friend of Godfred Christensen and the landscapes of Bredsdorff have often been compared to the work of Christensen. Bredsdorff is most known for his special light and often painted sunlit landscapes with sunbeams entering the trees or reflecting a lake or a pond. Bredsdorff worked later as a drawing teacher at Birkeröd school in Denmark.
