Beck was educated at the royal academy of fine arts in 1893. Beck was primarily a landscape artist and known for his series of romantic and light landscapes from around Denmark. Beck traveled and worked all around Europe and visited Italy from 1908-1920, The Nederland’s in 1913, and Germany from 1922-1937. Becks works are known for their precise details and light colors. Beck carefully chose his scenes and made sure to capture all the romance and beauty he saw in the landscapes. In later years Beck works also became a culture historical importance since many of the scenes he portrayed are lost and no longer look the same due to industrialization .
