Larsen worked mostly in Copenhagen and did many popular decorative arts.
He achived great fame for his excellent work in Tivoli, where he created the world famous “peacock curtain” at the Chinese Theater in 1874. Larsen later moved to Vienna in 1875 and continued working with decors there until his death in 1910.

Carl Larsen made very few oils in his lifetime. His paintings today are considered rare and very sought after.
