Baagoe was educated at the Royal academy of arts in 1844. Baagoe was primarily a marine artist and worked primarily on seascapes and shore scenes around the costs of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland. Baagoe traveled on many Scandinavian Navy vessels from 1842-1862, where he had the unique opportunity to work on the fantastic views from Norwegian fjords and Icelandic cliff shore scenes. Baagoes works were in high demand during his lifetime and he received many orders from Admirals, Captains and nobles around Europe. Many of his larger works were frequently shipped to United Kingdom where he was especially popular. Baagoe also worked as an illustrator for Danish magazines and worked on different decors around Copenhagen.
