Damm was a marine painter and a builder of model ships. Damn painting style was greatly inspired of the master painter Julius Paulsen and is known for his detailed portrays of fishing boats at the harbor of frederikshavn, Denmark. A large amount of Damms marine oils can be found in private collections. A few is exhibited at the marine museum of Frederikshavn, Denmark.
