Simonsen was a landscape painter, however, he changed his style and motives after
being strongly inspired by the French impressionists. Simonsen adored Italy and
travelled there many times to paint. Simonsens paintings are known for their
special strong colors and impressionistic style. His paintings have been exhibited in Denmark and in Toronto.
Education:
Educated at the technical school in Hilleröd.
Attended the Royal art academy in Copenhagen 1906-11.
Pupil of Viggo Johansen.
