Educated at Technical School and later at private art schools, and he has been a frequent exhibitor throughout the years. Dencker was a co-founder of the Deer Park Group, and as early as 1913 he was a co-organiser of the Deer Park Group’s first exhibition, where he exhibited with Axel M. Lassen, Carl Hansen, Vilhelm Wils, Knud Olsen, Viggo Langer, Soeren Lund and many others. In addition, Dencker has exhibited at Charlottenborg since 1918, at the Big Exhibition in Aarhus in 1938 and at two separate exhibitions in Copenhagen, where he received a very good critique. Very few have the ability of Dencker to interpret the changing atmospheres of the Deer Park, in all kinds of weather and at all times of the year. The fact that he also masters many other motifs is best seen in his paintings from the vicinity of Copenhagen. Generally, one can say about his paintings that they are rarely sold more than once. When they have been hung on the wall they seem to have found their permanent dwellings.
