Anthonore Christensen was one of the most well known flower painter of her time.
She gave art lessons to many members of both the Danish and the Greek Royal family. The Royal family also purchased many of her oils both to decorate their castles and to present them as gifts to other royal families and friends. This includes the Russian princess Dagmar who got a flower oil by Christensen as a wedding gift. Christensen achieved fame from the beginning of her carrier and her oils were purchased by the national museum of art in Copenhagen as early as 1868, when she was 19 years old.

Pupil of her mother Eleonore Tscherning and later a pupil of Emma Thomsen and O.D Ottesen.
