Heinrich-Hansen was an architectural painter like his father the Professor Heinrich-Hansen, Adolf studied to be a priest for 4 years and was very inspired and fascinated by church and cathedral interiors. Henrich-Hansen attended C.F.Andersens school of drawing and was educated at the Royal art academy in 1886. Later he traveled and worked in Germany, Italy and France. Heinrich-Hansen is especially known for his great talent for details, and it sometimes took him many years to finish an interior with a large amount of details. Besides interiors he also worked with cityscapes, animal portraits and portraits with Danish Fanö girls. Heinrich-Hansen worked as an art teacher at the Royal art academy from 1893-1896.
